RadonFinder.ca is an independent online directory that connects Canadian homeowners with certified radon testing and mitigation professionals. We are committed to protecting your personal information in accordance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable Canadian privacy law.

Information you provide directly:

• Quote requests: When you contact a contractor through our site, we collect your name, email address, phone number (optional), city, province, the service you're requesting, and any message you include.
• Contact form: When you reach out to us directly, we collect your name, email address, and message.
• Contractor applications: If you apply to be listed as a contractor, we collect your business name, contact name, email, phone number, certification number, and location.

Information collected automatically:

• Analytics: We use Google Analytics (GA4) to collect anonymized data about how visitors use our site — including pages visited, session duration, and general geographic region (country/province level). Google Analytics uses cookies to collect this data.
• Server logs: Standard server logs may capture IP addresses and browser information for security and diagnostic purposes.

• Quote requests: Your contact information is forwarded to the specific contractor you selected so they can respond to your request. We also retain a copy for administrative purposes.
• Contact form submissions: Used solely to respond to your inquiry.
• Contractor applications: Used to evaluate and process listing applications.
• Analytics data: Used in aggregate and anonymized form to understand site traffic and improve the user experience. We do not use analytics data to identify individual users.

We do not use your information for unsolicited marketing.

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the following parties:

• The contractor you contact: When you submit a quote request, your name, email, phone number, and message are forwarded to the contractor you selected. That contractor is responsible for their own privacy practices.
• Supabase: Our database hosting provider. Data is stored on Supabase infrastructure in accordance with their privacy policy.
• Resend: Our email delivery provider, used to forward quote requests and contact messages.
• Google Analytics: Anonymized usage data. You can opt out via Google's opt-out tool.
• Stripe: If you are a contractor subscribing to a paid listing tier, payment processing is handled by Stripe. We do not store or have access to your credit card information.

We use the following cookies:

• Google Analytics (_ga, _ga_*): Used to distinguish users and sessions for analytics purposes. These cookies persist for up to 2 years.

You can disable or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings. Disabling analytics cookies will not affect your ability to use the site.

• Quote request data is retained for up to 2 years.
• Contact form data is retained for up to 1 year.
• Contractor application data is retained for up to 3 years or until the application is resolved.
• Analytics data is subject to Google Analytics retention settings (default 14 months).

You have the right to:

• Request access to the personal information we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate information
• Withdraw your consent to our use of your information, subject to legal or contractual obligations
• Lodge a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada
