RadonFinder.ca is an independent online directory that connects Canadian homeowners with certified radon testing and mitigation professionals. We are committed to protecting your personal information in accordance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable Canadian privacy law.

Information you provide directly:

• Contact form: When you reach out to us directly, we collect your name, email address, and message.
• Contractor applications and listing claims: If you apply to be listed, or claim an existing listing, we collect your business name, contact name, email, phone number, certification number, and location.
• Contractor accounts: If you create a portal account, we collect your email address and a securely hashed password. Authentication is handled by Supabase.
• Featured Partner waitlist: If you ask to be notified when a Featured Partner slot opens, we collect your name, email address, and business name.

Information collected automatically:

• Analytics: We use Google Analytics (GA4) to collect anonymized data about how visitors use our site, including pages visited, session duration, and general geographic region (country/province level). Google Analytics uses cookies to collect this data.
• Server logs: Standard server logs may capture IP addresses and browser information for security and diagnostic purposes.

• Contact form submissions: Used solely to respond to your inquiry.
• Contractor applications and listing claims: Used to evaluate applications and confirm that a business controls the listing it is claiming.
• Contractor accounts: Used to sign you in and to connect your account to the listing you manage.
• Featured Partner waitlist: Used only to contact you when a slot opens in the city you asked about.
• Analytics data: Used in aggregate and anonymized form to understand site traffic and improve the user experience. We do not use analytics data to identify individual users.

We do not use your information for unsolicited marketing.

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the following parties:

• Supabase: Our database and authentication provider. Data is stored on Supabase infrastructure in accordance with their privacy policy.
• Resend: Our email delivery provider, used for account emails, listing claim confirmations, and replies to your messages.
• Google Analytics: Anonymized usage data. You can opt out via Google's opt-out tool.
• Stripe: If you purchase a Featured Partnership, payment processing is handled by Stripe. We do not store or have access to your card details.

We use the following cookies:

• Google Analytics (_ga, _ga_*): Used to distinguish users and sessions for analytics purposes. These cookies persist for up to 2 years.

You can disable or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings. Disabling analytics cookies will not affect your ability to use the site.

• Contact form data is retained for up to 1 year.
• Contractor application and listing claim data is retained for up to 3 years or until the request is resolved.
• Contractor account data is retained until you ask us to delete the account.
• Featured Partner waitlist entries are retained until a slot opens or you ask to be removed.
• Analytics data is subject to Google Analytics retention settings (default 14 months).

You have the right to:

• Request access to the personal information we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate information
• Withdraw your consent to our use of your information, subject to legal or contractual obligations
• Lodge a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada
